History

This is the history of Chudleigh Amateur Dramatic Society

CADS was formed recently, in 2011, in fact by a small group of drama enthusiasts in Chudleigh, whose first performance ‘The Merry Men of Chudleigh’ was received with enthusiasm and with all its performances sold out.
More pantos have followed, each one more ambitious, and each one learning from the past! Peter Pan and the Pirates, Jack and the Beanstalk, A Sleeping Beauty and the most ambitious yet, Cinderella, have all been performed in the community hall. We thank local business and other organisations for their unfailing support in these early years.
There have been other productions in Chudleigh, notably ‘Waterloo and the Duchess of Richmond’s ball’, The Queen’s tea party as part of larger town events, and an in costume themed reading of Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ in the Town Hall.
Check out all these in our Picture Gallery.
CADS now has almost 70 members but we’re always looking for more members and more skills. Checkout the membership page for more information.
